Maria Marcelo had a vision to activate the Washington United Youth Center. The 17,000 sq ft youth center is at the heart of the Washington/Guadalupe community. The community center offers only 8 hours of public programming per week. Maria’s vision was to partner with leaders in the community to bring more than 50 hours of week of public programming per week to the center!

Dear Councilmember Torres, Mayor Mahan and City Councilmembers
I am writing to request that you partner with Healing Grove to get the Washington United Youth Center opened. I saw that community centers in wealthier areas are open 50-60 hours per week, while the Washington United Youth Center is only open 8 hours per week. This community might be low income, but I think they should still be able to access their youth center!
Sincerely,
NAME
